Only 1083 four-door convertible sedans were built (979 were built for the U.S. market and an additional 104 for export). Of the five Mercury body styles produced in 1940, the four-door convertible sedan was the only one offered exclusively in 1940 and had an advertised factory price of $1,212. Not often do pre-war Mercurys come up for sale, which makes the sale of this four-door convertible sedan a very special occurrence indeed.
