1957 MERCEDES BENZ 300SL ROADSTER

1957 Mercedes-Benz
300SL Roadster
ID# 07500233
This 300SL Roadster is completely documented from new within all of the known registries. Within the most recent the known history is a Mr. Kennedy had owned the vehicle for many years and did a comprehensive complete restoration, not a frame off, and not for show but to the highest of standards including body, chrome, trim, leather, upholstery, engine, and complete mechanical. Mr. Kennedy oversaw and completed the restoration the standards of the likes of Scott Restorations or Gull Wing Service which Mr. Kennedy admired and emulated. Although the above described work is documented in a comprehensive file that is with the vehicle. Mr. Kennedy felt very ill and decided to sell his beautiful Roadster. It went to auction in Las Vegas and was sold at a record figure to a well known collector/dealer in Arizona at which point the car had a D service (major service) and a new clutch was installed. Negotiations were made and the car was sold to a famous private East Coast collector where it was operated for only a couple of road rally events and was presented in its beautiful collection. During this time it did go to service and inspection with documentation to substantiate whatever its needs were at the time. The roadster then entered into negotiations and was put in trade to purchase a very significant vintage Ferrari and was sent back to California. The vehicle prior to acquired by the next owner was inspected and documented by 300SL expert David Grant of David Grant Ltd. At this time even though this vehicle was restored to the highest of standards time does take its toll even though it has always been maintained, serviced, and documented it was put under the control of David Grant to handle and perform whatever mechanical or cosmetics were required to put it to the highest of standards.
