1932 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Kellner Salamanca
Chassis No. 78 JS - Engine No. JB 35
This magnificent car is a happy marriage of one of the most desirable chassis of its day with the striking coachwork of one of France’s most respected body builders, Kellner. This beautifully restored example was originally purchased on March 8, 1932 by a Monsieur Jacques Violet of Paris, France. The car was then purchased by Mr. Vivian A. Corradini of Arcadia, California. It was then purchased by J.B. Nethercutt of the Nethercutt Collection in San Sylmar, California in the 1950’s where it was on display until 1965 when it was sold to Bill Harrah of the Harrah’s Collection in Reno, Nevada. It was later re-purchased by J.B. Nethercutt in 1984 during the liquidation auction of the Harrah’s Auto Collection. Featured in The Nethercutt Collection: The Cars of San Sylmar by Dennis Adler, Coachwork on Rolls-Royce 1906-1939 by Lawrence Dalton, and The Rolls-Royce Centennial by Dennis Adler. It was restored by one of California’s premier facilities, Mike Fennell Restorations in 2011.
